OBJECTIVES: At the conclusion of this presentation, the attendee will be able to:

Discuss acute renal failure in critically ill patients and the indications for renal replacement therapy
 
2.
Define principle concepts of continuous renal replacement therapies (CRRT)
 
3.
Discuss dialysate and replacement fluid composition for CRRT
 
4.
Evaluate anticoagulation efficacy, safety, and management in CRRT
 
5.
Explain drug dosing considerations in patients undergoing CRRT
Technicians:
 
1.
Describe settings where continuous renal replacement therapies (CRRT) are utilized
 
2.
Discuss dialysate and replacement fluid composition for CRRT
 
3.
Explain anticoagulation agents and doses administered in CRRT

Program Registration: There is no fee for NJSHP members attending this program. NON-MEMBERS: Non-members wishing to attend and receive CE credit will be charged a fee of $25.00. Should the attendee wish to join the Society at this time, the fee will be credited toward the first year's dues.
 
New Jersey Society of Health-System Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council For Pharmacy Education, as a provider of continuing education. ACPE Universal Program number 0152-0000-10-030-L04-P & 0152-0000-10-030-L04-T. This program provides 1.5 contact hours of continuing education credit. This program is being sponsored by NJSHP North Chapter.

From Route 46 West, Route 80 West or Route 3 West
Route 46 West (or Route 80 West or Route 3 West to Route 46 West).  Exit at Route 23 North.  Follow Route 23 North to Alps Road (about 1 mile).  Turn right and follow Alps road about 2 miles.  Pass the Ratzer Road intersection and at the next traffic light, turn right onto Hamburg Turnpike.  St. Joseph’s Wayne Hospital is located 2.2 miles down on the left.

From Route 4 West or Route 208 North
Route 4 West to Route 208 North.  Exit at Ewing Avenue and make a left onto High Mountain Avenue.  Bear right in the fork in the road at Belmont Avenue.  Go to the first traffic light and turn right onto College Road.  Turn right at stop sign and turn left at the hospital sign after the college parking lots.

From Route 287
Take Route 287 to Exit 52A (Route 23 South, Wayne/Butler Exit) and follow directions from Route 23 South.

From Garden State Parkway North
Take the Parkway North to Exit 153B, and then follow directions from Route 3 West.

From Route 23 South
Route 23 South to Ratzer Road/U-Turn exit.  Proceed around jug handle; cross Route 23 and take right lane marked “Service Road,” to the right-hand turn for Ratzer Road.  Follow Ratzer Road for 1.5 miles to the traffic light at Alps Road.  Turn left onto Alps Road and follow to Hamburg Turnpike. St. Joseph’s Wayne Hospital is located 2.2 miles down on the left.

From Route 80 East
Route 80 East to Route 46 East. Travel .5 miles to the exit for Riverview Drive.  Follow ramp around to the right, then follow Riverview Drive to the eighth traffic light by the county golf course; make a right onto Valley Road.  Follow Valley Road, making a right onto Hamburg Turnpike.  St. Joseph’s Wayne Hospital is about 1.1 miles down on the left.

From Paterson, NJ
Take Broadway to West Broadway.  West Broadway becomes Hamburg Turnpike.  St. Joseph’s Wayne Hospital is located on the right hand side right after the Ratzer Road/Hamburg Turnpike intersection.
